Although concrete is pragmatic and resistant to wear, it is not always particularly attractive to look at. Concrete stain, as it sounds, is a way of “staining” the concrete with a color of your choosing to create an effect that is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It will not cover any cracks that are already present in the concrete but it will be a lot more appealing to the eye.

When it comes to staining concrete, it is better to go lighter at first. If you apply too dark of a stain, it will not be possible to go back. It is much more pragmatic to start off with a lighter coat and go progressively darker to your personal taste. Staining concrete is a multi-step process that involves cleaning the cement with and without chemicals, the use of PPE (personal protective equipment), prepping the area to ensure that only the desired concrete gets the stain and then multiple coats of stain in addition to concrete sealant. This process is time and labor intensive in usable product and requires supplies that not everyone has just sitting at home.
